The Pass Through Shot
ARRB testimony destroys the lone gunman theory.
The Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) was established in 1994 as a result of the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992. Its primary purpose was to oversee the review, identification, and declassification of records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Grok
After the assassination of president John F. Kennedy a myriad of investigations starting with the Warren Commission (1963-1964), New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison's Investigation (1967-1969), House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) (1976-1978) and the Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) (1994-1998).
The ARRB operated from 1994 to 1998. Their mission is to compile documents from government agencies, declassify documents and take testimony under oath from witnesses. It was an important project to bring some transparency to JFK assassination research even though it uncovered additional mysteries. Such as autopsy photographer John Stringer stating the film he was reviewing, which were supposed to be the originals he shot in 1963, were of a totally different brand name of than what he used. Meaning the transparencies were duplicates and not the original archived film he shot. What happened here? It’s never been resolved.
In my opinion the standout document is the 6-page report (FD 302) written by FBI special agents Francis X. O’Neill Jr. and James W. Sibert. This is their account of witnessing the autopsy of JFK. It blows apart the “lone gunman” theory and reveals a major part of the cover-up.
As seen in this screen shot (full PDF below), pathologist Dr. James J. Humes using his finger probed Kennedy’s back wound and found no exit. Also, it was not deep and was at a “downward position of 45 to 60 degrees.” They were at a loss to explain why there were no bullets in the body. (It was assumed the famous “pristine bullet” found on the stretcher at Parkland Hospital had dropped out trying to resuscitate the president.)
From this one report trained observers Sibert and O’Neill, we are told that the back wound is not a pass-through shot and did not transit the body or exit Kennedy’s throat. The bullet path was too low of an angle and in the wrong direction to transit the thorax.
It also means there is a second gunman and hence, a conspiracy.
The Agents Come Under Attack
Obviously, a hot potato for Arlen Specter the lawyer tasked with promoting a single assassin and hence, no conspiracy in Kennedy’s death. As soon as Specter read the report he made sure they would not be asked to give testimony to the Commission and he also had their FD 302 report buried in the national archives so it would not appear in the 26 volumes of evidence and hearings. Of course you can read it now, online and see what Specter sought to cover-up.
Years later author William Matson Law interviewed both Sibert and O'Neill for his book, In The Eye Of History. Both men stood by their earlier testimony. Both men were annoyed with Specter and felt he had maligned their work and observations at the autopsy. Sibert complained that Spector in his book, Passion For Truth, made numerous errors from getting their surnames misspelled (Siebert and O’Neill) to claiming the agents documented two bullets hitting Kennedy and one striking Connally. Sibert denied that and it is not in their report. He said Spector accused him of not taking notes at the autopsy. Not only is this not true, but Sibert still had his notes and read from them in his interview with Law. Spector also claimed that O'Neill made some notes but destroyed them. Also, not true.
Needless to say, neither man believed in the single bullet theory because of their expert witnessing of the President’s wounds. Likewise they resented Arlen Specter’s false accusations. They were eager to testify to the ARRB in order to set the record straight because of Specter’s lying about their actions that night in the Naval hospital in Bethesda.
In Closing
When was the last time you saw the information above broadcast anywhere in the media? I would suggest never. You will only find it on numerous JFK conspiracy oriented assassination sites. And there is where it will stay. But at least it has a place of refuge. The MSM never wanted the truth about the Kennedy assassination to ever be revealed to the public, never then and never now. But at least some of us know what the truth is.
